Recording for the follow up to First by Tout is almost complete. Mixing and mastering will be happening throughout January and hopefully after that time some previews of tracks will be available online. we have yet to set a date for the release of Second by Tout, but we guess it will be sometime in spring 2013. The record will be being released via Trestle Records [www.trestlerec.com] on beautiful vinyl format as well as a digital release. There will most likely also be a video which we plan to shoot over the christmas period and which will also be available in the new year. Artwork for the album will be by Ross Downes [with a preview below]
I have also been fortunate enough to contribute to the Trestle Records End of Year Single. "The first of an annual Trestle Tradition. A file sharing collaboration between artists on the label. A track with a strange life of it's own being passed from artist to artist" R.D. The single will be available for free download from the 17.12.12 via the Trestle Records website www.trestlerec.com. Featuring such artists as James Johnston, Adam Coney, Nicholas Siddal, Nick Downes, Ross Downes, Matthew Swinnerton, Christian Berg and more...be sure to get your free download. I am also happy to announce that my collaboration with Adam Coney has now been completed and mastered and will be released next year on Trestle Records. Calibos, as the album has become known also features contributions from Robert Doherty on Harmonica [who forms one half of Trestle label mates City Shepherd]. I am immensely proud of the album. I have known Adam for many years and throughout those years we have never attempted to make a record together. It's something I've been wanting to do for sometime and this seemed like the right time. Neither of us knew what to expect when we began recording, but I think the results speak for themselves. We are yet to agree a release date, but it should be early spring 2013 and the record will be available as digital download as a limited pressed CD run. more details on this to follow.
lastly Door played a show the other week in support of Sudden Infant. It was a fantastic show and I'd like to thank everyone involved, especially Tom Hammond for putting us on and having faith in us. We have already spoken about recording some new material and there may be a release or two in the can. I'll write some more about this soon. Please ensure to check back for more details.
